GM Group Gen2 Delco E-Series (E41/E46/E88/E90/E93) on Flex: OBD Programming with Bench Unlock
GM Group Gen2 Delco E-Series (E41/E46/E88/E90/E93) Support in Flex: OBD Programming with Bench Unlock
Late-model GM platforms can be tricky: locked ECUs, long read times, and zero room for mistakes when you’re working on a customer vehicle. That’s why the latest Flex coverage for GM Gen 2 Delco E-series (Exx) is a big deal for shops that want a stable, repeatable workflow.
Flex software update v7.37.0.0 adds support for Delco E41, E46, E88, E90, and E93 (Global A) ECUs, using OBD programming with Bench Unlock to improve stability and safety during communication with the control unit.

What’s included in this GM Gen2 Delco update
This release expands Flex compatibility to a newer generation of Delco ECUs and helps simplify the read/write process.
Once connected, Flex identifies the memory areas available on the ECU and then enables the appropriate read functions—so you’re not guessing what to pull.
Choose the right read: Maps vs. Maps & Code
Flex gives you two primary read paths depending on what you need for the job:
- Read Maps: focuses on the calibration area
- Read Maps & Code: pulls both the calibration area and the Application SW area
That makes it easier to match the workflow to the task—whether you’re doing a straightforward calibration change or need the broader dataset.
Virtual Read: reduce waiting when files are available
For supported ECUs, Flex can also use a virtual read that can be downloaded from online servers (when available). In practice, this can cut down on time spent waiting and help you keep work moving through the shop.
Unlock + write supported (included in subscription)
With this protocol, Flex supports unlocking and writing operations without additional add-on costs—everything is included in the subscription.
